Join Bob and experience life on the Bay as watermen do, riding along as he checks as many as 200 crab pots, rebaits, and replaces the traps. Capt. Bob will tell you about his vessel, the tools and tricks of the trade and the other fisheries he works. A light breakfast and bottled water will be provided. Feel free to bring your own snacks and lunch; don't forget your camera. Note: there is a port-a-pot at the marina but not on the boat.

10Learn How to Make a Homemade Apple Pie$50 each

Learn how to make a fool proof Amish pie crust and a delicious apple filling. Leave with recipes for both, the baked pie that you made, and an extra double crust (will last up to 3 months in the freezer) for making another pie at home.

Award-winning actress and Smithsonian scholar Mary Ann Jung cooks up her own unique recipe for fun as she portrays Julia Child in a 45 minute enactment of the wonderful woman who changed culinary history. This live theater production will be followed by French wine and appetizers. Bon appetit!

15 Victorian Holiday Feast with the Averys$60/person

Get in a merry mood for the Holiday Season with a lamplight Victorian dinner in Captain and Mrs. Avery's House. Decorations and foods of the era will be bountiful. Dinner will start at 6 p.m. with nogs and punch and appetizers harvested fresh from the Chesapeake Bay. The happy ending will feature plum pudding and hard sauce. And, each course will be accompanied by appropriate "spirits."

A Solstice Bounty celebration with Spring Lamb selected by retired local shepherd, Eileen Stein and prepared by Mike Stein. Mike is a follower of Richard Olney best known for his books of French country cooking. For more than 25 years, Eileen herded her flock of sheep with her Border Collies who you will meet. As you enjoy the view of the West River and blooming roses, you can expect a delicious dinner and specially selected wines.

18 Winter Luncheon Series: Attend all 6 Luncheons$50

Relive the origins of the Preakness. Maryland Governor Oden Bowie built Pimlico and started the first stakes race in 1870. It was called the "Dinner Party Stakes of Maryland".
